Lucky

So you might see cute Lucky pictures (and I can only *hope* one is forthcoming here) and say "that is cuuuuuute. I am going to make one." Winnie, Carolyn, and Dee have finished, and did a great job. Seems like it might be a fun project to knit, right? My advice to you: DON'T DO IT. Seriously, I could have made five, no fifteen, sweaters in the time it took to make this one. The neckband alone probably took like 7 hours. There is no reason to do that to yourself. Please, don't do it.

There is one circumstance in which I'd recommend someone knitting this: If you have about $60 total yarn budget for the next 3 months and already own SnB Nation. hey, this will keep you busy! go for it! see you on the other side!

I spent much of today seaming, seaming and seaming.

Here it is. The neckband is still in progress, but its getting cloooose.

Where's the picture? I want to make one! Hehe, just kidding, wraps look awful on me :).

Yeah ... wondering where the picture is!

dee:

I felt the same way about my Lucky... it was way too much work... even though love the finished garment, never again.

ohh man - now i am really scared!

It's lovely.

Never say never! There's something seductive about fine gauge knits that can be hard to resist. I just make sure I pick classic styles since I take about three years to finish anything done on size 5 or less needles.

It looks great, but I can totally relate to the perils of 4-ply cotton. I can't wait to see the modeled picture.

Adele:

Wow, despite your frustration, it looks absolutely fabulous! Beautiful, neat stitches.

Loving the colour also. Green is one of my favs!

it looks beautiful thus far. i'm sure it's all worth it! you did a great knitting job. the stitches look very professional!

Dani:

Man, you have such an even hand. That looks perfect! I can't believe how fast you finished it still... That would have taken me years! Can't wait to see it when its totally done!

I must say the garment is deceptive then ... because it looks simple! But I am always happy to see an FO ... either my own or others! It looks lovely ... hard work is worth it. :)

Love that colour! Aren't you excited to get this sucker done???!! Can't wait to see it on!

but it looks so great though. i wanna knit it.

Lucky looks so good! Your stick-with-it-ness is very impressive. Love the pictures too.

dang, you churned this out in record time. i know how you feel about it. towards the end i *almost* couldn't bear to look at it, let alone knit it. but there's light at the end of the tunnel, and your Lucky is a beauty.

It looks great, even if it is a bitch to knit... you are so close! I love how it looks so far! :)

MJ:

Looks good! Can't wait to see it on you. It makes me want to knit it... gahd, too many projects!

Anna:

Oh my goodness, how in the world are you such a perfect knitter? Your clover wrap is fabulous--kudos on such a great job! What's your secret to getting such even tension?

oh NO! i just joined the KAL and bought yarn to do Lucky last week. On top of that - it is black yarn making it extra difficult to see with those tee-tiny size 2 needles! Well, at least it will keep me busy for awhile. sometimes I finish forjects too fast. I ordered the 4-ply Cotton from Jannette's Rare Yarns on ebay. Wish me luck. I guess you can read more and make fun of my painful progress on my blog.
