One Down, One to go
One sock down, one to go.
I have this rule that once the first sock is done, immediately cast on for the second one.
Reinforcement yarn was called in for the heel and toe. It's just plain brown, so doesn't follow the striping pattern, but I think it looks alright. I used the Schoeller Esslinger Stopf-und Beilaufgarn from Elann.com. (man, am I a walking advertisement for Elann, or what??)
Regia Sock yarn on size 1 needles + reinforcement thread = virtually bulletproof heels and toes. It was a fair amount of effort just to do the ssk and ktogs on the toe with this combination. They are *never* going to wear out!

Question - is this self striping, or you striped it.
I'm learning to follow your rule, I have 2 socks sitting without mates, the last pair I did I immediately made the 2nd sock, and the current pair I'm following the same thing. Otherwise I'll never have 2 socks.

Totally lovin' that yarn. Great colors. Way to beat the 2nd sock curse--they are gonna be great--can't wait to see the finished pair :)
Have a good weekend, Diana!

I really hope it's bulletproof! The last pair of socks I made, I wove the reinforcement thread into the sole of the sock after it was done (from the inside) so that it wouldn't interfere with the pattern. I have no idea if they are bulletproof because my grandma is treating them like heirlooms!

Those look great.. and comfy too! I agree, must cast on second sock... I did that and am so happy I did, cause then you can have it sitting there taunting you.."make me, make me!"

I left my post above and then realized it might come across as snarky. My bad. I meant it with no sarcasm and more along the lines of "bulletproff heels-awesome!"
