Turtleneck Shrug
My stitch ya neck out scarf pal is about to get really lucky. I just bought this yarn for the swap.
Its an alpaca from Peru, and is really really soft. The Yarn Tree was having a sale. I often find really great yarn there, but probably wouldn't have considered this pricey alpaca if it wasnt on sale.. The label says this yarn is not dyed, that the nutmeg color is natural.
Its destined to be the Turtleneck Shrug.
I love that I can just pick out this yarn and project, send it off, and someone will knit it! How great is that? Have fun, scarf pal!

I love the chocolate colour! Natural? It looks like 72% dark chocolate to me! ;)

Oh my god! Are you kidding me? Your scarf pal will be working with more than $50 of luscious alpaca?!?!? Hello, can I rig this deal to knit for Diana? Pretty please? I love ribbing!

hey now...i loved this pattern! i have the FO up on my blog. scroll down a few posts and see how i had to frog and reknit because it was too long...23 inches made nice long sleeves on me...to base of thumbs. but then the suggested 7 inches of flat was too long; i made it about 5 so it pulled nicely instead of curving 'over' my shoulder.

Very nice! I love this book and still have mixed feelings about this design. I don't think I could pull it off...although I have some fantastic yarn for it...

Yuuummmmyyyy! I'm really into shrugs right now (I have one on my to do list - right after the shawl) and this one is very cute. What a great find - yummy alpaca on sale. What's better than that? Your scarf pal's gonna love you when that arrives in the mail!

Excellent choice! Maybe I'll have to beat down Grumperina to knit this for you.
I still want to knit this shrug for myself, but I can't decide on a yarn, so I'm submitting something else for the scarf swap. My neck is really high-maintenance and alapaca is too itchy for it. I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and buy some heavily cashmere-infused yarn.

I love that turtleneck shrug, but I too am afraid I couldn't pull it off. I'll have to wait to see a "model" shot... the exchange sounds like bunches of fun!
