A good day for socks
The same day I sent off my sockapal2za socks (admittedly, quite close to the deadline), mine came in the mail.
I sent these:
and got these:
This exchange is really cool. You make a pair of socks, and get a pair in return. Although I understand how that works, actually receiving the socks from my pal was like an unexpected bonus. a really nice unexpected bonus!
Shannon knit them in the Friday Harbor Pattern. from Blue faced leicester yarn. They fit perfectly! The yarn is soft, and I think they'll be very warm in the winter.
My favorite part is how the pattern extends over the toe area.
Thanks, Shannon!
Also today we have a new blog debut. I recently designed Caitlyn's new site, Knot Without My Knitting. I am not going to lie - I am super pleased with it :-) Do check it out!

Oooh, those socks are pretty! It does seem like most patterns end before the toe, so this pattern is especially neat!

Wow, happy sock pals! I love yours. The colorway is maybe a little bit different than you seem to choose for yourself, and that's the great thing about allowing someone else to surprise you. Caitlyn's new site -- and yours -- are beautiful, simple, uncluttered, easy to read and navigate. I think I need some revamping in that department and I'm not sure which direction to take. Any suggestions?

Great socks! I'm glad you got something you like.
And your blog designs are very cool. If I ever bring myself to do something other than my minimalistic white, you're my girl.

Great socks! And great site too - I love the graphic you designed for her. I'm with Purly - if I decide to shell out $$ for my blog, you're my gal too!

Ummm... I really meant by my last comment if I decide to shell out ANY money for my blog, not trying to imply you're expensive or anything... tee hee!

I love all your answers Diana. It sounds like we have a lot in common... I didn't know you were from Arizona! I love it there.. I'm from Colorado, so we were practically neighbors :)
Those socks you received are beautiful! And love, LOVE Caitlyn's new blog. I might have to talk to you about a site for me, once blogger pisses me off enough ;)
