Next Up: Hourglass v2.0
My next project is in the style of The Hourglass sweater (original from ), but different. I am in the initial design stages of modeling a new garment after this much-loved one:
Its a fine-gauge knit top from Banana Republic which I bought a few seasons ago. I wear it to important meetings, or on first dates. It fits unbeleivably well. Let's see if I can knit its long-lost twin.
The yarn is Lime #77 Noro Cash Iroha, destined to look quite nice under my new puffy black vest.
The plan is for an all-stockinette sweater, worked in the round. Clean edges, maybe with attached i-cord to prevent rolling, or maybe I'll let it roll up.
So far, I have a swatch.

The yarn you've chosen is so wonderfully bright and gorgeous. I'm sure it will look great with your new Gap vest :-)

Yay, another Hourglass maker! I love the yarn you chose, Cash Iroha is so soft and well, frankly I think it's the most perfect yarn ever made.
Looking forward to seeing your progress!

This is one of the best ways to design something for yourself that you're going to LOVE! I eagerly await your progress.

Love that color! Make sure you wash that swatch. The Cash Iroha blooms and I've heard it stretches out with wear.

Sounds divine. I love the color and the vest and the hourglass sweater. It's destined to be a classic.

Listen missy, you better not be done with that swatch. That doesn't look like four inches. AND if you are knitting in the round, shouldn't you be knitting the swatch in the round?
The swatch nazi strikes again!

Awesome green! And I love Cash Iroha, in general. I can't wait to see what you do with the pattern. I've been wanting to knit this, but have been put off by all the errors bloggers have reported in the pattern. I'm sure your mod's will be great, and I'll probably be inspired to knit this before long, too!

Cash Iroha! Such a wonderful / terrible love/hate kind of yarn, kind of like everything Noro. The finished product will be smashing, though - I've often dreamt of designing something this way - can't wait to see the finished product!

wow, that is one of the nicest sweaters i have seen in a long time...simple and could be either casual or elegant depending on how you play it. it seems like it is your pattern, but thanks for putting your inspiration up, hopefully i can make one too.
