Felted cat bed update
I think we can safely say he likes it.
There was much debate about the best way to felt things, and scary stories about how many hours it takes to handfelt something. I took the easy way out and sent the kitty pi through the washing machine, 2 cycles, including spin cycle at the laundromat. no complaints.
Specs:
Yarn: 6 skeins of Peruvian Collection highland wool, in Mesa Teal.
Pattern: Kitty Pi
Modifications: one extra row to use up all the yarn.

That is damn cute! Nothing like another place for cats to nap.

He looks so comfortable with his ears perking above the edges. The "pi" looks good. I may have to try that for my own animal. Maybe it will keep her off my bed!

Aww! Pretty soon you'll be thinking... oh... Sam likes that surface... I should put a Kitty Pi there for him... and then you'll end up making 4 like me. :D
Glad it worked out!!

Oh how cute! I'm going to have to get started on this. My kitties are giving me nasty looks and guilting me into making this!

Aaaaww. It's rare that I see photos of kitties that are as cute as Eddie and Simon, but Sam, well, he is just as cute. I'm so glad this was successful and that he has embraced the knitting.

Oh my word. That is such a cute photo. So glad he likes it and that the felting worked a treat (I'm a washing machine felter too).
I made our cat a new bed on the weekend too- but not a knitted one- a sewn one- a little beanbag cat bed. It seems to have met with approval too.
