Fair Isle-ing
First there were the endpaper mitts.
Specs:
Yarn: Knit Picks Palette from SQ and Drops Alpaca from Kris (thanks, yarn providers!)
Pattern: Eunny's Endpaper Mitts
Needles: Magic loop with size 1 and 2 needles.
Cast on: I did try the recommended turkish tubular cast on, but after 3 tries it was back to the one in the Knitters Book of Finishing Techniques.
I held the green alpaca in my left hand, for correct color domination. Before these mitts, I used to switch hands depending on how much of each color there was in a round. oops.
Next there is a start to the Anemoi Mittens. These are not going quite so fast because of color indecision (not to mention corrugated ribbing). The current white with navy is a bit off in some indiscernible way.. other options are the green alpaca and maybe brown.. the brown might be it.
ps. completely unrelated, but anyone battling spam? After installing akismet a couple weeks ago the number of spam comments making it to my inbox has gone down to zero. available for MT and Wordpress.

I've been lurking for a while but I felt like sharing. My apartment-mate walked in as I was looking at your mitts. When he asked how I was, I replied, "I want to eat these gloves." That green is fabulous and now I have to make a pair of these.

Love the endpaper mitts! Both of those hand accessories are on my knit list. Hopefully I'll get to them before spring arrives.

Two words for you: Wow. WOW. The Endpaper mitts are super-awesome. Congrats on a GREAT color combo! I, too, plan on knitting both those hand accessories...sometime...in January? February? Sometime soon.
You have me rethinking my color choices, though.

the endpaper mitts look great. i have the hardest time with tensioning color changes when they're all single stitches. yours look great.
and i'm totally installing akismet over christmas break. i've got my spam under control, but hearing how well yours worked is the final push i needed.

I just cast on for the Endpaper mitts, and the tubular caston baffled me as well. I'm glad to hear I'm not alone--I was feeling some severe knitting inadequacy ;)

The mits are gorgeous. Those Anemoi mits are next on my list, too.
As for Akismet, I heart that program. What a HUGE difference it's made.

I absolutely love, love, love -- did I say love -- your mitts! Your colorwork turned out beautifully. Before I learned about yarn dominance, I too switched hands depending on which color was used more. It must be the natural evolution of stranded knitting :-) I look forward to seeing your mittens.

Those came out beautiful! I was oblivious to yarn dominance too before I read about it!
I like the brown for the mitts - maybe with the natural?

Question on Akismet. I installed it, but spam seems to be at the same rate. Is there something you have to do to "activate" it? I used blacklist on old MT and I think you had to configure to start. Am I totally missing something on the documentation? thanks!
