One Skein Wonder #2

The second One Skein Wonder is complete!

I do love this pattern. Its so quick to knit, and more importantly, very wearable. Now, I am sure all of you wear your knit items frequently, but mine rarely make it out of my apartment. I know - I should wear them! But for whatever reason, I just don't gravitate towards them when deciding what to wear. Maybe they are just not appealing after all the time spent knitting.

The One Skein Wonder is an exception. I wore the green one to work yesterday, and didn't even question it. Its quite possibly the perfect mix of handknit + fashion.

(It looks kinda lopsided here, but that is just my rushed photo styling this morning. in real life it is symmetrical. really.)

This one is knit in Blue Sky Alpaca Dyed Cotton, size 9 needles, 4spi. The yarn is wonderful. It is super soft. I knit the second size. It seems that the cotton did stretch a bit, but it still fits! I had to cast off with size 9 needle even though the ribbing was done on 7s.

and this is the leftover yarn:

Phew! I was worried about running out of yarn.

I am already thinking about knitting another one of these - might need another color, maybe dark brown..

That is absolutely fabulous. I definately have to make one of those - and it's probably gonna look just like yours because I have an extra skein of blue sky cotton to use on something. But, the good news is that it's unlikely we'll run into each other at work or a restaurant! ;)

Horray a FO! It looks great! Love the colour.

this one skein wonder is everywhere! and all of them looks equally good. love the color you used on both of them! OSW will be on my mind tomorrow when i visit my LYS. i know what you mean about not wearing the knitted items more regularly. that need to change!

It's very cute, and if it's very useful, then shoot make another one! Plus it looks like it is a very satisfactory project for you.

That cotton gives it such a lovely texture--it looks wonderful, Diana! :)

I finally got my pattern too, so it looks like I can make one too...

I love the pink one just as much as the green one! Nice job...I say make one in every color of the rainbow - you can always use a shoulder warmer at work if there's air conditioning.

looking good. i am thinking of making one in every color possible too. great summer knits!

I am liking this the more I see it, but I don't like calling attention to my chest! I dunno, I may break down and make one!

That is so adorable. The green was adorable, this is adorable, and I'm sure if you knit one in brown, it too will be adorable.

Oh that is really cute. It's perfect when you want to keep the sun, or the wind, or the chill of of your shoulders. Enjoy!

Beautiful! And the pink is so light ... so soft!
Just one question - so you only wear your knitwear at home? What a waste! You knit so many beautiful stuff!

I really need to make myself one of those OSW. Only problem being the middle of winter it is absolutely pointless. Yours are looking fantastic though....both of them are gorgeous.

Ooh I love this one. Such a pretty colour!

it looks so pretty in that pale pink. I was thinking of using blue sky cotton for my next one, is there a reason you used 9's and 7's to knit this up?

Haven't you ever bought 2 or 3 of the same shirt in different colors just cause it was so awesome? Same principle applies. Plus, you can't go wrong with only one skein of yarn.

Look at you! Finishing and showing off two projects in one day! Don't you feel lighter! That bag is super cute, as is your pretty pink OSW. I'm so happy for you...you finisher, you!

so cute. gotta knit one of those.

kris:

supercute!

It's gorgeous! I know what you mean about things not makking it outside the apartment... Aside from copious scarves I have made, only a couple of my other handknit items make it outside. I am starting to get more selective in what I do make in the hope that I make things that get more wear!
