Socks and more socks
First and foremost, I am happy to report the successful completion of the cascading leaves socks.
The specs:
Pattern: by Jean Townsend
Yarn: dyed sock yarn from Knitpicks
Needles: size one, magic loop.
Modifications:
I did ten repeats on the cuff instead of five. Also, I think if you follow the pattern as written, the top ribbing and lace pattern don't match up. The top ribbing is a stitch or so off. On the sock on the left, I moved the start of the round so the purl stitches in the lace pattern matched up with purls from the 2x2 rib at the top.
and, because you just can't stop the sock knitting, I started two new pairs. The Chalet Socks from , and the Gentleman's Fancy Sock from . You all know this already, but I must say again, Nancy Bush writes great sock patterns.

Great looking socks! Moving the start of the round so the purl stitches line up makes the pattern flow much better. Have fun completing the next two pairs.

Love the CL socks. I knit these for my sister for Christmas, in a soft heathered grey. I also modified the ribbing to align with the pattern, and I carried the leaves all the way down the foot to the toe. They were a bit tight for me, so when I make them for myself I'll probably use the Knitpicks yarn too, because it's a bit thicker than what I used for the first pair.

So pretty! Someday I'll get around to making a pair of these. I LOVE the purple you've chosen for the Gentleman's Socks. I've been told by Nancy Bush herself that the Gentleman's Socks are one of her favorites from that book.

You are 100% right to move the stitches over. I did it myself and put a note in the files section but have never gotten it added to the pattern yet. What a beautiful job! and i think they look even better that long. Really pretty.

I'm about to start the Gentleman's Fancy socks! What yarn is that you're using? It looks very interesting. I'm going to use some Schaefer Anne that's been in my stash for about a year - too pretty to use!

The cascading leaves socks look GREAT! What yarn are you using for the Gentleman's fancy socks? I'm making a pair right now in Trekking. It's turning out quite interesting as the stripeys are lining up with the pattern repeats.

Beautiful socks, and you know, I would have moved the pattern in order to match up the ribbing, too, so, yay! The new ones you've started are also looking fab!

gorgeous! the pattern is just lovely, and the shade of green goes well with your blog. What did you think of the Knit Picks sock yarn? Just curious... I'm thinking of trying it myself.

Gorgeous socks. Great modifications - it's all in the details! And I love both of the new sock patterns. I'm thinking the Gentlemens Socks will come shortly after I finish the Chalet Socks.
